Meoooowww.........

I came home today from my after-school daycare, Kids Play. There was Lila, my tabby, who is the most regular domestic breed, and not at all rare. I went to pet her. "Hello Lila," I said as reassuring as I could. "Meeeeeeoooooowwww.....," she meowed "sarcastically." It was as if she was saying "Look at me! I have been out for so long!!" She meowed again. This time: "Meow!" It meant "Let me inside!" I let her in and she ate. Why do cats meow sarcastically?
