Be Yourself

It is good to be yourself, not someone else. Even if they have a special talent, ability, or something that you don't have, just remember: YOU are also special in a way.

For instance, at my class, I sometimes get jealous of other people.

Luke can play the recorder. Julia draws good. Kyle, Anthony, and Drew play football. Ali's rich. Riddhi got held back and in turn became very popular.

But my ways of drawing captures Julia. I play the piano and Luke gets envious. And I stand out in the class in a way, too.

I am not THAT smart, but I know more than other people. They want to copy my work (which I find annoying!) and sit next to me.

I like this in one way and I don't in another. If we need partners, I have a hard time choosing. But everyone likes me.

Anyway, if I were Ali, I would have a mother who always gives me what you want, a cute brother, and luxuries, but I would lack intelligence and flexibility. If I were Julia, my drawings would look good, but not much detail. If I were Luke, I wouldn't get to play songs that soothe and surprise people.

Also, when I read various novels, I would wish I was a child that had a dog nurse (from Peter Pan), a grandmother that collected rare dolls from around the world (from Nancy Drew: The Clue in the Old Album), breakfast in an orchid with the loveliest fruit ever tasted (from The Lost Princess of Oz), and cute ponies (from Pony Pals:I Want a Pony). But later, I would think that it's better to be me.

Mrs. Price, the school counselor, read a book that everyone is special and different in some way. Just how boring if everyone was the same! Same color, same race, same name, same language, same clothes, everything. The world would be simple and boring! So it's good to be different.....and yourself.
